The Kosher Bistro Dimensional Sign features a colorful water-jet-cut steel plate, brushed aluminum letters, and a custom-made, directional frame. In addition, it has woven fabric that adds an unusual textured finish.

The bistro is the only kosher-certified eatery in Larimer County, located inside CSU’s Parmelee dining hall. It follows strict dietary laws and is open to students, staff and faculty, regardless of faith. In Colorado, there are only two kosher eateries on college campuses: Fort Collins and Boulder.

The restaurant employs a mashgiach – the chef and supervisor – who certifies that all food brought into the bistro is kosher. The deli offers homemade hamburgers, hot dogs, stews and salmon. Additionally, there is a variety of other meat dishes and sides. To meet demand, the Bistro is introducing signature kosher foods. These include, matzah ball soup, challah and falafel.

The bistro is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch. Dinner hours are 5 to 6:30 p.m. You can find them at, https://www.colostate.edu/

How we made the Kosher Bistro dimensional sign

The Bistro directional sign is colorful, with a contemporary flair. First, we formed the entire sign from one piece of steel plate. Next, we water-jet cut the sign’s interior. Last, we covered the background with a gray, loosely woven fabric. We attached the fabric by gluing it to the steel. The letters were made from brushed aluminum. We spray painted he sign’s colorful finish by using blending techniques.
