Artists, artisans and art patrons are always a pleasure to work with when designing and building a sign. Our Throwback Thursday Tricycle Creations sign was that kind of experience.

Whether whimsical or sophisticated, the gallery offered a variety of mediums. This included sculpture, paintings and drawings. Their appreciation for creative artistic expression influenced the outcome of our collaboration.

How we made the Throwback Thursday Tricycle Creations sign

Seventeen years ago (2002), the gallery owners contacted Paxton Signs. They wanted a sign that showcased the quality and scope of their inventory. As a result, they chose a hand-crafted, gold-leafed, sandblasted sign. It would be a sign that was as artful as the creations displayed in their gallery. We enhanced the sign’s deep blue background by using subtle, raised filigree. A hand-painted, antique tricycle gave the piece a playful cachet. Finally, we added raised, gold leaf letters. We custom-cut the high-density urethane background panel. By doing this, the panel’s unusual shape attracted the eye. The end product was a sign that was unique and original.
