Paxton Signs’ Throwback Thursday featuring Wine Glass Ranch – 2006.
When Sherman McCoy filed for a homestead in 1888, Nebraska was still part of the frontier. Having left Iowa by train, he walked the last 30 miles from the western-most stop at Elsie, Nebraska, to his new home and the home of family generations to come.
The then Lone Star Ranch homestead was the predecessor of the current Wine Glass Ranch, Inc., this week’s “Throwback Thursday featured business. It’s still a family operation. The organization is dedicated to providing clients with professional and profitable management of cattle and natural resources.
Through the decades, and through good stewardship and thrifty living, the original operation grew to almost 8,000 acres. The current operation includes farming, ranching, cattle management services and natural resource management. For landowners, Wine Glass Ranch offers farm, ranch and natural resource management. For cattle owners and investors, Wine Glass Ranch offers a vast array of cattle management services. Additionally, they offer other select cattle breeding opportunities. How We Designed and Built the Wine Glass Ranch Sign
In 2006, Paxton Signs created the Wine Glass sign. We used their logo design as its focus. We arranged the art elements to emphasize the ranch’s wine glass cattle brand. In addition, we anchored their name prominently, just below the stylized hill elements and wine glass logo. The sign’s shape was custom-cut, then sandblasted, into high-density urethane. The wine glass itself was gold-leafed. It gives the sign additional interest and appeal. As always, a triple-coat paint finish insured the sign would have a long life in Nebraska’s sometimes harsh weather conditions.
We specialize in communication art
Paxton Signs’ more than 38 year history includes hundreds of signs. Some are major monument signs, some small business signs. We’ve created ranch signs, lighted signs, signs made from recycled wood, hand-painted signs, carved signs, vehicle and fleet graphics – a continuous variety of communication art, serving Fort Collins, northern Colorado, and surrounding mountain communities.
