Currently, Frontier Gallery collects and sells firearms. In addition, the store offers Old West and frontier weapons, as well as WWII firearms. Gallery owner, Dave (“chief cook and head bottle washer”), has collected old guns for more than 30 years. Needless to say, he has an enviable collection of rare and unusual firearms. For instance, he’s owned the Colorado Territory Spencer, and the factory-engraved 1862 Presentation Henry Rifles. What’s more, Dave has presented rifles to kings and royalty. Of course, as one would expect, interesting U.S. history is always on display here.

Creating window graphics of a bygone era

Ultimately, Dave wanted traditional – but snazzy – window lettering and graphics. Specifically, he envisioned graphics that reflected the treasures within. Above all, he wanted to take advantage of his large storefront windows.

Then, he turned it up a notch and chose gold leaf lettering. Also, he preferred hand-painted graphics to enhance the store’s Old West cachet. In short, he wanted the overall effect to reflect a bygone era. Below, you can see the finished gold leaf lettering.

Four steps to effective window advertising

First, we designed the layout for Frontier Gallery’s storefront window. Second, we used 23k gold leaf with matte centers for the lettering. Then, we outlined the letters with oil enamel lettering paint. Last, we used enamel paint for the window’s decorative elements, including the lower panel.
