Artists, artisans and art galleries are always a pleasure to work with when we design and build signs. Our production of the Tricycle Creations sign was that kind of experience.

Whether whimsical or sophisticated, Tricycle Creations gallery displayed a variety of traditional mediums. For example, the most popular art was sculpture, paintings and drawings, although they offered jewelry as well. Needless to say, their appreciation for the creative and artistic influenced the outcome of our collaboration.

How we made the Tricycle Creations sign

In 2002, the gallery owners contacted Paxton Signs. They wanted a sign that showcased the quality and scope of their inventory. As a result, they chose a hand-crafted, gold-leafed, illustrated, sandblasted sign. It would be a sign that was as artful as the creations displayed in their gallery.

The sign production process

First, we custom-cut the high-density urethane background panel. By doing this, the panel’s unusual shape attracted the eye. Then, we enhanced the deep blue background with subtle, raised filigree. A hand-painted, antique tricycle finished the design and gave the piece a playful cachet. Last, we added the raised, gold leaf letters. The end product was a sign that was unique and original.
