The Pines at Southmoor is one of two apartment community signs for which we designed and built identically designed signs that were painted with different logos and colors.

Apartment communities have been booming in the Fort Collins area since the turn of the 21st century. During 2008, Monarch Investments acquired the two multi-family properties: The Pines at Southmoor, in Greeley, and Ramblewood Apartments in Fort Collins. Both apartment communities offer similar amenities. For example, bus transportation is available to local universities and city-wide destinations. In addition, swimming pools, weight training facilities, and open areas are available for activities and socializing.

Building The Pines and Ramblewood Apartment signs

We presented several sign design ideas to Monarch Investments. The company decided to use the same design format for both apartment sites. They wanted a design that would effectively identify their brand. That is, one that both apartment locations could share in shape, size, base and end-post treatment. Otherwise, they wanted different logos and color identities.

We sandblasted the finished designs into high-density urethane. They both feature hand-painted art elements, and each is triple-coated with latex paint to withstand Colorado’s weather extremes. Individually hand-carved, gold leaf letters highlight each complex name. When lined up back-to-back, each two-sided sign shares a metal finish cap that color-matches its borders and posts.
