If you’re looking for exquisitely designed rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and one-of-a-kind fine art, DOOZIE JEWELRY in Old Town, Fort Collins, is precisely that: a doozie of a jewelry store! Located at 200 A Linden, Doozie Jewelry is clearly the gem of Northern Colorado’s jewelry profession. Recently, we had the pleasure of creating the Doozie storefront sign. Also, we created gold leaf art elements and gilded entrance doors.

Elegance by design

Refinement is the defining feature of Doozie Jewelry, not only in its unique inventory, but also in its decor. From floor to ceiling, on every wall, and in its sparkling jewelry displays, there is elegance. So, when we considered the store’s outdoor sign, elegance was the first and foremost consideration.

Black and gold contrasts

Together, elegant black and glistening gold always create a stunning contrast. Using this design theme, we produced the sign’s prismatic, hand-carved, gold-leafed letters. Then, we mounted them on a bronze/black, painted substrate of aluminum composite material (ACM). Additionally, the store’s lovely bird logo is rendered in gold-leaf above the store’s name. This cutout logo provided us with a ready-made, 34″, negative-space discus that we gilded to complete the storefront signage. The resulting discus is mounted on the south side of the building. See photo, below. Finally, gilded on each storefront entrance door will be the unique 23k gilded bird logo that features matte gold leaf centers surrounded by gleaming gold-leafed borders.

Fine art adorns the walls

The fine art of Andrew Madison graces the walls of Doozie Jewelry. His work is refreshing, calming and colorful, and very popular with art galleries and collectors. Below, read his artist summary and two examples of his striking artwork.

Andrew Madison: “… I am passionate about art and enjoy sharing my creations with others through exhibitions and social media and now in conjunction with my wife at Doozie Jewelry located in the heart of downtown Fort Collins… I enjoy seeing subtle abstraction in ordinary life. Simplistic perspective in an otherwise busy scene. Calming and thought provoking points of view are what I hope to achieve in these paintings.”
