deer crest monument signThe north entrance highway to Rocky Mountain National Park is where you’ll find one of our favorite projects: the Deer Crest Resort sign. The large sign graces Colorado’s beautiful Deer Crest lodge. It is only a few miles from the world-famous Park.

Deer Crest is a four-season getaway for the discriminating traveler and adventurer. It offers suites for all seasons. The resort is specifically designed for adults. It offers a refreshing smoke-free environment. What’s more, few Estes Park getaways feature as many amenities as Deer Crest. It simply has to be experienced to be appreciated. A refreshing and stimulating experience

Designing and producing custom signs for mountain and resort communities is a refreshing and stimulating experience. These business owners are keen to share the beauty and desirability of their surroundings. In fact, Rocky Mountain National Park is one of America’s top five national parks that attracts nature lovers year round. However, summer is probably the most spectacular time to experience the adventure and beauty within this majestic park.

How we made the Deer Crest Resort sign

We constructed the two-sided Deer Crest sign in 2007. The 6′ x 10′ sign features a recessed color-gradated background. We designed it with dimensional art elements and prismatic letters. In addition, we hand-carved and hand-painted the deer art elements. They were then mounted on a hand-painted, illustrated mountain scene. We also hand-carved and gold-leafed the featured letters, “DEER CREST.”

As with all Paxton signs, we designed the Deer Crest sign to tolerate extreme temperatures. We did this by triple-coating with exterior paint. In addition, we engineered the two-sided sign to withstand high-wind events.
